Curious cove camp

On Monday last week we went to curious cove camp in the Marlborough sounds. We were there from Monday afternoon to Friday morning. It was a 3 hour ferry ride from Wellington to Picton. I liked Tuesday because we went up Mt kahikatea that day and wednesday when we did camp activites.

My writing of dangerous journey to school

I am walking along the cliff  in Gulu China it is a five hour walk up the cliff face. I am nine years old and there are 11 of us walking along the path. Which is very thin at times. I think at least one of us will not end up at school today because people always fall of these cliffs and we never see them again. I see the sharp cliff edges and imagine myself falling off. The adult with us always says when people fall off they are in a happier place. I half believe it. I see some of the trees but when we are higher up they are just blobs of fuzziness.

The cliff is a yellow colour and grey in some parts. I always hate looking down but sometimes I can’t help myself. There is always another group ahead of us and another one behind us. We are coming up to the part where it is really thin. Carefully, I pass the thin part safely then everybody comes over who hasn’t already. We are almost there says the adult in the front. We quietly cheer and then keep going after a quick drink. Then I see stones falling and one of the bigger ones just misses me. I hear a scream and then a child falls from the other group and then disappears. She says she can fly. Then she’s gone. Some of the younger ones carefully look over the edge but see nothing. The adults say to keep on going but there is a problem one of the kids bags has fallen and is on a branch just out of reach. Then the girl tries to grab it but a rock hits her head and she just lies there and slowly slips. I quickly grab her and pull her up and lean her on the wall. The adult checks her pulse. She is still breathing just knocked out. I am relieved another kid didn’t fall. We are at the last bend.
